Sesame Crusted Tofu with Smoky Teriyaki Glaze

Sesame crusted tofu with teriyaki glaze

This beautiful dish just explodes in your mouth with flavor and textures ❤️ it is truly one of my favorite recipes on this blog.
Marinated in an Asian marinade and baked to a crisp with a crunchy sesame layer. Topped with a smoky teriyaki glaze.
Doesn't that sound amazing?? It is so simple, and yet so delicious, and may I say, gorgeous!

Try it yourself and let me know how you like it :)

Tofu
Tofu is the most common source of protein in most vegan diets. Tofu is low in calories but high in protein and fat which make it a great substitute to use in main course dishes. It also contains many important vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, manganese, selenium, and iron.

Sesame seeds
Sesame seeds are a great addition to lots of dishes and that is perfect because they are packed full of fiber, protein, magnesium, vitamin E, and other antioxidants. They also add a great sell when roasted and taste so good!

Poppy Seeds
I love everything with poppy seeds, they go just as great with food as with baked goods and they are a wonderful source for many of your daily nutrients. Poppy seeds are very rich in nutrients, antioxidants, plant fats, and fiber. 10 g of poppy seeds will help you reach 26 % of your daily need for manganese.

 Variations:

  • Try these yummy tofu squares with any other glaze you like, Sweet orange sauce goes great with them for example.

  • For a more unique look, you can use black sesame to crust the tofu, but the flavor will come out different. It is very tasty, but a little more on the bitter side.

  • For a gluten-free version, choose gluten-free soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce.
