Homemade Strawberry and Chia Seeds Jam
Do you sometimes feel like eating something sweet but you don't want to feel guilty for eating a lot of sugar?
I know I do....
Do you ever feel like your sweets don't have enough nutritional value?
Have you ever tried Chia seeds-based jam?
This delicious spread is so good, both for your body and your mind! It is based on fresh produce and is stabilized with none other than good-old chia seeds. The chia seeds help to thicken the jam while giving it all of it's health benefits.
You can choose how sweet you want it to be and even not add any sugar at all! because unlike other traditional jams the sugar is not a preservative. Unfortunately, that means the shelf life of this this jam is a lot shorter, but that is why I make a small batch, and I just make a new flavor any time I feel like it. (It is very simple).
Strawberries
Strawberries are not as high in carbs as most people think, they have really high content of water and fiber along with some simple sugars. Strawberries are also a great source of Vitamin C, along with manganese, folate, and potassium. Some researchers believe that strawberries may decrease your risk of heart disease and cancer, as well as help regulate blood sugar.
Chia Seeds
Although the chia seed is so tiny, it is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. The seeds re loaded with fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids and various micronutrients. Chia is literally 14% protein, which is crazy!
Whenever I go into the kitchen, whether it is for cooking or baking, I need to have my music with me. I thought it would be nice to share with you the exact song that describes my feeling towards each recipe. That way you can have a similar experience while cooking...
Recipe's song:
I had to take this opportunity to link one of my favorite video clips ever, it has to be Jam by Michael Jackson (Look at him team Michael Jordan how to dance :))
